Thank you for your email.
I wholeheartedly support unionization of dealers. I
am employed at Motor City Casino in Detroit, and we are currently
in negotiations for a contract with the UAW & Motor City
Casino.
So far, things are looking good for us, and also for MGM
GRAND Casino in Detroit. We should have our contract ready for a
vote by end of summer, 2000, and expect an overwhelming vote in
favor of this contract.
Based on what the CAW (Canadian equivalent of UAW), has
done for Dealers in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, this looks promising
for U.S. dealers, to belong to a union, so at least we have a
voice, and can partly determine our future in the gaming industry.
