Subj.:   Workmen's comp....

I would like to know about repetive injuries to the neck, burning sensations in the arms that are not carpo tunnel, any other type of injuries and what the casino's do about them. If you are a land base dealer you are covered under workman's comp. However, if you are a riverboat dealer, unless you can prove the casino was at fault then you may not recover injuries and damages. Which to me is unfair! I would like to know what you have to say about all this?

Each state has their own Workmen's Comp laws. Most of them are very similar but there are some variations. I cannot understand why workers on the boats would not be treated the same as those working in the land-based casinos.

I would get a group together and talk to the state's workmen's comp people. It seems that maybe the casino interests have had too much influence with the workmen's comp office in your state. They do this to keep their insurance rates down, as the premiums the casinos pay into the workmen's comp fund are in proportion to the level of claims they experience.

I would also try to get the media to expose this inequity and talk to your state legislators. You will find a petition drive may help bring this to the light of day.
Good luck.
