(An Atlantic City
dealer asked that we post his letter for you to read....)
In the next few weeks many of you,
my fellow dealers will make the most important vote of your lives.
More important than voting for the president of the country. This
vote WILL have a DIRECT impact on your future. THIS vote will
determine whether you continue to put up with the many unfair
practices that the casinos practice routinely every day, or
whether you express your desire for something more which every one
of us deserves. The only way to get it is if everyone of us...
STICKS TOGETHER!
Do not be swayed by the tactics being used at your casino. We all
know that the casinos will not spend money unless the end result
benefits them. They spend money to make money. Meal and room comps
are used to get players to come back to them and spend more money.
Advertising is used to get people to come to their casino and
spend money.
And they spend money on
union-busting attorneys because they know that no matter how much
the union-busters charge the casinos for their services that in
the end it will be less then they have to give us if we have a
CONTRACT. Keep focused on YOUR bottom line the same way the
casinos are focused on theirs. I know first hand from the union
movement at my casino that the things the casino are doing to you
to sway you right now are probably non-stop and seem very
overpowering.
Don't believe it!! The casinos will
do and say ANYTHING to stop us. They know that if even one
contract is signed it will change the way they do business at
EVERY casino in the country. If you can see this through to the
end you will see that you ARE NOT ALONE!!
VOTE YES!!
You cannot lose, no matter what
they tell you. You will not spend a single penny on
union dues until YOU have a CONTRACT! And you will not have a
contract until it is approved by a majority of the dealers that
you work with in your casino.
Would you vote for a contract that gives you less then you are
getting right now?
Of course not!
Would any of your friends or fellow dealers vote for a bad
contract?
Of course not!
