I am so glad to
have gotten into this site. I have been in the gaming industry for
only two years and am constantly shocked and amazed by the
actions of management. Management seems to be stuck in a time warp
somewhere in the1890 would be my guess. I was in management for
many years never in my wildest dreams would I ever consider
treating any of my employees in the manner in which I have been
treated in this industry.
I have dealt
with unions in the past and there was no love lost there, however
with the current atmosphere and the unenlightened management style
in this town I would
join a union in a hot flash! Dealers are front-line
employees who earn the money for these large corporations and yet
we are treated like dirt. Management cries about how giving
a raise and benefits is going to effect their bottom-line.
Consider this, these corporations hold the
dealers tokes in interest-bearing accounts for 14 days how much
interest has accrued in that time? Is that not money that
really belongs to the dealers? Their argument for that is
administrative costs.
How long does it take someone to punch in a few
numbers on a computer? Less time than it has taken me to write
this letter. Bartenders and cocktails earns more per hour
than dealers do yet we are the ones who earn the money for the
casinos. Lets take a clue from our co-workers and get the union on
a roll.
Thank you for listening.
