This letter is to let dealers know about an unfortunate incident that occurred at the MGM Grand...

Recently certain players that make all Baccarat dealers cringe when they come  walking into the Baccarat room took a shot by betting over their limits on certain bets which resulted in these players getting paid more then what they should have.

When the incident was discovered MGM GRAND executives told Mr. Joe Wilcock (Executive Vice President of Table Games, MGM) to have the dealers and the floor supervisors fired. Mr. Wilcock declined to do this and  instead told them that they can have his job because he did not properly instruct his casino personnel on the players betting limits.

Basically Joe Wilcock covered the dealers, floor supervisors, and pit managers butts by sacrificing his job to save theirs. As far as I am concerned it was the pit managers job to make sure the personnel on that game was educated as to their betting limits. Every other shift at MGM knew their betting limits --- it was only this particular shift that was unaware.

When was the last time that you ever heard of a casino manager sacrificing his job for others?? This is the first for me -- Would your casino manager do this for you??

Good Luck Joe, that was the most respectable move I have seen come out of this industry in nine years....

I can guarantee you that MGM will replace Joe with a puppet of the board.....

PS: Hey dealers that voted no --- Have things changed at your casino yet????
