Jack:
A few things have happened recently at Circus, Circus that you may
be interested in. About a month ago there was a blanket raise for
dealers... I have not really sat down and figured out the
details... but in essence it seems as though just about everybody
got a 75 cent per hour raise OUT OF THE BLUE... if you want
further information I can probably dig it out for you.
IN
ADDITION... yesterday (4-22-01) there was a letter posted by
management stating that dealer employees with one year of service at any
specific Mandalay Bay Property would get preferential treatment
when requesting a transfer to another property.
This included certain specifications that stated that the request
for the transfer would have to be made by the employees
supervisor, rather than through personnel (as done prior) and that
the transfer would be subject to the dealer passing standard
auditions for their specified games.
Though there are other issues that were not addressed (transfer of
benefits, shift preferences, and vacation credits) these two
recent and most visible changes constitute some major shifts in
thinking by the Mandalay Bay Properties management team and in my
opinion are a direct result of the recent pressures brought to
bear by you and your Transport Worker associates.
If you need more information let me know. I trust that you
and you associates are documenting the many not-so-visible
improvements that have occurred in the Vegas workplace in an
indirect fashion despite our losses in many of the casino
elections. Hope this note cheers you up and that you will forward
this information to our good friends.
Regards...
