reaches tentative deal

Casino said Saturday it reached a tentative agreement with the
Detroit Casino Council, the group representing more than 4,600
employees at both MotorCity Casino and MGM Grand-Detroit.
The Detroit Casino Council consists of four unions: the
United Auto Workers, representing dealers; the Hotel Employees and
Restaurant Employees, representing food and beverage staff and
hostesses; The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 372,
representing delivery and transportation staff; and The Union of
Operating Engineers, representing all maintenance and building
staff.
The tentative agreement must now go before the Detroit
Casino Council membership for ratification.
Detroit Entertainmnt, LLC, a joint venture of Detroit-based
Atwater Casino Group and Las Vegas-based Mandalay Resort Group,
owns and operates MotorCity Casino, a temporary casino.
Eventually, the gambling hall will have a permanent, city-selected
site.
