Dear Andrew:
First, let me thank you for your kind words about the RJ
article.
I approach this effort, the battle against tobacco and all the
suffering it causes, as a war being waged against a very powerful
and arrogant enemy. It's only recently that we have seen some
weaknesses develop in the execution of their battle plan.
We've got to press on and keep hitting them where it hurts
the most, by taking their money! I just wish the courts would work
more quickly. What you are doing so well, and what I am also
trying to do is to make more of the public aware that they must
join the fight against the tobacco companies if we are to win.
We must also convince our lawmakers in Carson City that our
casino workers and our customers alike deserve a break. The
rock-solid casino lobby must be broken.
If we can get the people angry enough at these pompous,
lying asses we know as tobacco executives, the tide will turn in a
big way. Then, and only then will the casino powers come to
understand that there truly will be life after smoke-free casinos
are declared.
Keep up the fight.

P.S. And, in answer to your question, I am receiving your
bulletins.

Dear Bronxguy37@aol.com:
A belated thanks for the Las Vegas Review-Journal article.
I did see it in
the street edition of the paper and I'll be linking it at the
appropriate
locations.
If you look at the casino workers or letters sections at
either
NevadaLabor.com or nvaflcio.org, you will find a story about
casino smoking
I wrote in response to a letter awhile back. I will soon be
posting an
updated version, based on a response to Mr. Paul Haste, who is
organizing
dealers in the U.K. I am forwarding him a copy of this letter, as
I am to
Silvina Martinez, who is likewise organizing casino dealers in
Argentina.
I am also sending a copy to Mr. Al Slavin, a reporter for
Crain's Detroit
Business, who happened to call me about casino dealer and security
personnel issues today.
I note several e-addresses on your correspondence which are
already on my
lists. I am not sure that you are (my e-mail program's search
capability is
not the best). I will include you on future uploads. If you've
already been
getting bulletins from me, please let me know. (AOL is not very
good at
identifying the sender unless it's also in the body of the
letter.)
At another e-mail box, I plan to subscribe to the casino
dealer list serve
at egroups. Please do not hesitate to send me additional material
at this
address.
Please give my best to Tony Badillo, to whom I referred Mr.
Slavin.
Once again, excellent work.
Please stay in touch.
Be well. Raise hell.
