Al,
I am confused as to why you would mass-email this
anti-union opinion column
that is posted on www.iuge.net
I'm assuming that IUGE and yourself are agreeing with
the sentiment in the
column, and that is why you posted it and mass-emailed
it. Please correct
me if I'm wrong.
As far as the TWU and its Local 721 Las Vegas Dealers
are concerned, we
support the Employee Free Choice Act wholeheartedly.
Also, regarding the
information about the Wynn election, and the
intimidation tactics by
management, the writer doesn't know anything. His/her
"oh please" comment
is insulting and condescending. We dealers at Wynn Las
Vegas lived through
the constant pressure, and I'm sure Caesars did as well.
IUGE has "Union" in their name, however, promoting
anti-union articles is
going against all we (unions) need, want, and believe
in.
I am confused as to your intention of blasting this
particular email. Can
you please explain?
Thanks,
Kanie Kastroll

Vegas Dealers Local 721
We, the IUGE have a responsibility to inform casino
employees and not pick
and choose or censor. Intelligent decisions are made by
evaluating all
information, good and bad. Jeff Simpson's articles
defending Wynn's position
were very offensive but could not be hidden under a
rock. The fact that the
higher court overturned the Starbucks case was bad news
but also had to be
told. The fact that Congress is showing weakness
concerning the Employee
Free Choice Act and that the bill may not pass is also a
reality that has to
be dealt with not ignored. Knowledge, understanding,
truth and being
informed equates to power and proper decision making,
ignoring these
principals leads to weakness and defeat.
To all concerned parties, please know that the IUGE
position and policy, and
the reporting of all events on our website is meant not
only for the Wynn
dealers, but for all casino dealers in Nevada and
throughout the USA and
abroad.
Our purpose was and will always be the fair and
equitable treatment of all
casino dealers and the protection of their job security
and tip income. Any
entity which works against these goals will be
aggressively opposed by the
IUGE.
